Perfect Attendance Pays Off for Some HCSD Students

Posted Date: 9/12/23 (2:44 PM)

(September 12, 2023) - September is Attendance Awareness Month, and the Harrison County Career & Technical Center is responding to the Mississippi Department of Education's request to help spread awareness and implement programs to reduce student absenteeism and promote attendance. The HCCTC will recognize and reward students with perfect attendance each week in September by holding a drawing for amazing prizes donated by local businesses and community partners. The winners can pick from among the donated prizes, including meal cards, apparel with special logos, VISA gift cards, college swag bags, free yearbooks, and cash.

About 375 students from D’Iberville High, Harrison Central High, and West Harrison High are currently enrolled at the HCCTC. Students who show up for class on time every day each week will be entered in the weekly drawings. Students who do not miss any day of school for the entire month of September will be eligible for the grand prize drawing on October 2nd.
